Doggie TV

Have you ever watched doggie television as I so lovingly call it? If it were us humans staring out the window for hours on end we would probably be commenting on what we were viewing as opposed to barking. Out this doggie tv window Katie has been watching the 3-4 story houses going up. You can tell she thoroughly enjoys it. It's been so noisy here for many months starting at 7 am. So this doggie tv will be keeping my dogs entertained for a long time to come.

Rain and dog hair care

Katie And Brandi from WA sporting their fancy raincoats
I think for WA state dog raincoats are a great idea. Its pouring out tonight and have raincoats for my own dogs but do you think I use Them? So poor dogs come in sopping wet. I do not see neighbors even walking any dogs with one either. What is amazing is to see shorthaired dogs outside being walked when it snows with no sweater or coat on mine do wear clothes all winter its too cold. Was thinking how would we as people like to be going out in the cold with no Protection? Food for thought. As to relate to grooming if they wear clothes all the time and they are a dog that gets haircuts make sure they get brushed often as dog clothing will knot the hair up fast. Keep it short or remove clothing and brush daily or you may end up needing your dog shaved. Happy howlidays from Loving and Gentle Dog Grooming

Why you need to have your dog groomed

Most dog owners choose not to keep the long hair coat, due to the time it takes for upkeep. Many owners choose to have a shorter pet trim. This means trimming the hair all over the body. The length is up to the each individual owner. The shorter you keep it, the easier the overall maintenance. It also lessens the amount of time on upkeep.

Trimming around the eyes and bangs helps the dog to see better, and makes it easier to clean around the eyes. It’s also important to trim around their rear end so nothing sticks to it.

All dogs with longer hair, whether only around the eyes, ears and tail or the whole body, will need to be brushed whenever it gets wet. Letting the hair dry without brushing can result in "set in" matting.

This may result in your dog’s mats having to be shaved off often to the skin sometimes causing rashes and small scratches due to the blade having to go so close to the skin to get under the mats.
Frequent grooming and brushing is the best practice to prevent irritation.
